Confidence and being yourself
Stories about confidence for children: self-esteem, being different, different abilities, and speaking up for themselves and saying no.
13 stories
Sooner or later most children wonder whether they are good enough. They notice that a friend runs faster, reads sooner or seems to fit in more easily, or they feel that something about them, their looks, their body or the way they do things, is wrong.
Some find it hard to say what they need, or to say no when everyone else seems to want a yes.
Stories give your child a mirror and a window at once. They can meet a character who is different, who doubts themselves, or who cannot do things the way others do, and follow them as they find their own strengths and their own way to take part. Hearing a character speak up for what they need makes it easier to imagine doing the same.
On this shelf you will find stories about self-esteem and believing in yourself, about accepting what makes your child unique, about different abilities and finding another way, and about speaking up and setting limits.
