Delete your Booklly account
This page is published by Računalniško programiranje Janko Tomšič s.p., which runs Booklly. You can delete your account in the Booklly app or, without the app, through our contact form. Deletion cannot be undone.
In the app
On an iPhone, an iPad or an Android phone or tablet, open Profile, then Account and security, then Delete account. The app shows what you lose and asks you to type a word to confirm.
Removing the app from your device does not delete your account.
Without the app
Send us a request through the contact form and enter the email address of your account in the Email field. We delete the account within 30 days.
Subscriptions
A subscription bought on the website that will renew has to be cancelled before you delete your account in the app. If you write to us instead, we cancel it for you.
A subscription bought in the App Store does not stop you deleting your account, but deleting your account does not cancel it: Apple keeps charging for it until you cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Only you can cancel it.
What is deleted
- Your username, sign-in details and email preferences.
- Kid Profiles and their photos.
- The pictures you added, with their check results and descriptions.
- Stories and series that were never published, with their illustrations and audio.
- Favourites, your analytics choice, the devices registered for notifications, Family and group memberships, and the invitations you sent that are still pending.
- Your newsletter contact at our email provider.
- Your analytics profile at PostHog, the events linked to your account and your session recordings, within 30 days.
If you signed in with Apple and delete your account on Android or by email, remove Booklly yourself in your Apple Account settings, under Sign in with Apple.
What is kept, and for how long
- Stories in the public library stay, with their illustrations, but they are no longer connected to your username or your sign-in details. If you want one removed, ask us before you delete your account.
- If you had a subscription, the billing records the law requires: invoices and their records for 10 years after the end of the year they relate to, and subscription and Story Credit records for 5 years after the subscription ends. Stripe and Apple keep their own payment records.
- Story reports you filed stay, without a link to you. The record that you agreed to sharing with AI providers is kept for 5 years after you gave it.
- Contact messages are kept for 3 years after the matter is closed, server logs and error reports for up to 90 days, and records of story production for up to 12 months.
