The smell of tomatoes fills Sadie's bedroom. She blinks awake. *Whap.* Something wet slaps her nose.
Spaghetti. Her hair is actual spaghetti.
"No. No, no, no!" Sadie leaps to her mirror. Long noodles dangle from her head, dripping marinara sauce down her pajamas.
She remembers last night. The tangled brush. The tears. Her angry wish: "I wish I never had to brush my hair again!"
Well. Mission accomplished.
Sadie tries brushing the noodles. They slide right through. No tangles! She grins. "Maybe this isn't so—"
*TAP TAP TAP.*
A pigeon sits on her windowsill, staring at her head with hungry eyes.
Sadie backs away slowly. She grabs her backpack and sneaks outside to bike to school.
