What was falling from the sky?
Lena pressed her nose against the window. White flakes floated down, down, down. So pretty! Mama smiled. "Snow, Lena. Your first snow!"
Mama helped Lena put on her warm coat. One arm in. Two arms in. Zip, zip, zip! Next came the soft hat. Pull, pull over her ears. Then fuzzy mittens. One hand. Two hands. Lena wiggled her fingers. So cozy!
Mama opened the door. Whoosh! Cold air tickled Lena's nose. She took one step outside. Then two steps. Then three steps into the white, white world.
Snowflakes danced in the air. One landed on Lena's mitten.
